Painting has become a type of meditation for me. I put on my favorite music and dive into another world of pure creativity for hours at a time. In June of 2004 I received a life-saving heart transplant. I had been very ill with Cardiomiopathy from age 18 to 28 and a new heart was my only option. The operation was a success and my artwork has played a crucial role in helping me survive and recover. Painting has been a means of theraputic expression both pre and post-transplant. During times when I’ve questioned whether I would live or die, I have repeatedly turned to painting as a powerful coping mechanism. It NEVER lets me down.

Now I paint every chance I get. I have the gift of a very strong imagination and a seemingly endless supply of creativity and ideas. In 1996 I sold my first painting and I've been putting my talents to work ever since. My inspiration comes from a variety of sources rainging from science fiction, plant and animal life to people and urban architecture. Comic books and graffiti art have been the two biggest influences while developing my style of art.

Three of my paintings are being reproduced and distributed globally with the Lucasfilm® Interpretive Artist Program where my highly stylized renditions of the George Lucas characters can be found in
galleries and shops world-wide.

In addition to painting I continue working as an illustrator for an on-going series of books which help professionals in the workplace build stronger working relationships.

One of my recent paintings was part of a “Collection of Rare Interpretive Art Work” Inspired by Family Guy! In association with Twentieth Century Fox and Acme Archives this show kicked off at LA LUZ de JESUS Gallery in Los Angeles and it is currently on tour to Toronto, London, Sydney, New York, Chicago and San Franscisco.

I grew up in a tiny rural community and with few distractions where my imagination was allowed to blossom. I studied Fine Art and Art History at Nebraska Wesleyan University. At age twenty I had my first studio space and gallery reception at the Burkholder Project in Lincoln, Nebraska.
