"Dangerous Beauty"  Lion fish are absolutely beautiful creatures. They have a bad reputation for being an invasive species not to mention they're poisonous. Previously killed and discarded, Lion fish are trending on forward-thinking menus in many seafood restaurants. In my painting, "Dangerous Beauty", the lion fish is taking on a some additional armor and hints at some mechanical parts to keep him even safer from both predators and spears alike.

"Pisces Paradise"  I love the ocean, the colors, the quiet under the water and as a Pisces, all fish a fascinating to me. This is a colorful imagined fish I made up who has the outline of an Angel fish. Maybe the inner colorful fish is the soul of the Angel fish? Does art really need an explanation?

"The Good, The Slow and the Dead"  My latest Día de los Muertos - inspired character. This Sugar Skull turtle makes me think of a Clint Eastwood - Sergio Leone character in a Western. Instead of "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly", I call this one, "The Good, The Slow and the Dead".

"Happy Heart-Bluebird"  A mechanical steampunk-ish creation is set free, and like the old adage, 'if you love something, set it free. if it returns it's yours forever'. I love the happy - peaceful expression on this bird's face.

"HERO"  This little sea turtle is making lemonade out of life's lemons. He has added some embellishments to the garbage stuck to him. Eventually he might wriggle out of it, but for now it makes a great cape and streamers! My goal with this piece isn't to be negative, but rather to continue to spread awareness and mindful living practices. Even simple things like buying products with biodegradable packaging or thinking before you discard something.

"HIDDEN CITY" Calm and content nestled among the white sand and shells fragments on the ocean floor, this armored tough guy is the anchor for an entire underwater city. Who resides in this safe-haven? I accidentally stepped on a crab. He pinched the bottom of my foot. Startled, I jumped back and watched him scurry away with a stream of moss, algae and seaweed growing on his topside. He came back to his turf and graciously accepted a flower-peace offering gift from me.
